Faxes, Photocopies, Xeroxes, Drawings etc. are NOT camera ready artwork. Providing this type of artwork will only delay your order. With the advent of laser printers, a small number of specialty manufacturers will accept this type of artwork as camera ready. However, be advised that should they reject this artwork their normal charge for making it camera ready runs $30.00 - $35.00 per hour with a one hour minimum and will be billed as a separate "art charge" and it will delay the production of your order.
We will, as a service to our customers, have artwork prepared camera ready locally at an additional charge of $15.00 (per color in the case of multi-color, color separated, artwork.) We are not a print or graphics shop and charge you only what our vendors charge us. Artwork provided to us via the Internet (.jpg, .bmp, or .cdr file) will be prepared camera ready locally and charges will be invoiced.
Camera ready artwork is commonly referred to as a "PMT", "Photo Positive", "STAT" or "Velox" depending on your local. You can obtain camera ready artwork from most local print shops e.g., PIP Printing, Kinko's, Insty-Prints, Kwik Kopy or any local printer that has a camera.
Color separated artwork refers to the separation of colors in any given imprint image. In the printing process colors are imprinted one at a time using separate printing screens, plates or dies; therefore, the artwork for each color must be separated and applied individually. Registration marks, applied to each color image, are used to line up the individual colors so that when the entire image is printed, each color is lined up on the image in it's proper location.
